A massive 26-foot diameter circle adorned by 22 doors, each with a stunning photograph of the Major Arcana, the Circle of Doors Tarot invites you to step through a doorway and choose a card.
Enter into halos of flickering flames, a spinning drum of dancing lights, a moody ambience, and an aura of possibilities. This powerful, large scale, interactive installation provides a container for the divinatory art of Tarot readings.
The installation debuted at Burning Man Festival 2014 as Wheel of Fortune, an honorarium grant recipient. In the years since, it has appeared at festivals and events across the country, returning to Burning Man in 2022 expanded and transformed into Circle of Doors Tarot.
On the interior gazebo sits pedestals of reclaimed wood on top of which rests one of a kind, hand-sewn and hand-printed leather-bound books on the mystery of the Tarot, allowing guests to learn more about their chosen card.
Four beautiful, rustic additional structures made of salvaged materials and representing the Minor Arcana- the triumphs and tragedies of our living narrative--can be additionally exhibited. Each of these unusual outposts showcase 14 stunning images from the suits of the Minor Arcana.
